UE Caloocan mentor Legaspi’s award-winning film “Ambulancia” to compete at the 5th Naoussa ISFVF in Greece

UE College of Fine Arts faculty Richard Legaspi’s award-winning short film “Ambulancia” was chosen to compete at the 5th Naoussa International Short Film and Video Festival (ISFVF) Competition at the Municipal Theater, City of Naoussa, Greece, on May 8 to 11.

Legaspi, director, producer and scriptwriter of several digital films, teaches advertising and painting at the UE Caloocan CFA, is a UECFA alumnus and a UE awardee for Exemplary Performance in Visual Arts. In Ambulancia, he gets able assistance from the film’s photography director Albert Banzon, assistant director Jules Katanyag, AD/producer/ editor Anna Isabelle Matutina, co-producer Eloisa Espino-Sanchez, production manager Seymour Barros-Sanchez, musical scorer Pam Miras, and production designers Grace Orbon, Sonja Completo, and Benay Reyes.

The Naoussa International Festival, considered as the most important digital cinema festival in Southeastern Europe and organized by the Arts and Culture ARTION civil company, under the aegis of the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Macedonia and Thrace, the Greek Film Center, the Institute of Audiovisual Means, the Imathia Prefecture and Thessaloniki Cinema Museum, will exhibit more than 250 films from 50 countries, including the Philippines.

Since its first year the ARTION festival is deemed important by the international filmdom as it puts the directors and filmmakers in the center of attention, supporting their efforts through film market and workshops, at the same time, bringing them close to the spectators in active participation.

The Festival jury consists of: festival president George Tseberopoulos, film director Panos Koutras, actors Dinos Augoustidis, Kleon Gregoriadis, Giordano Petri of the Sofia Film Festival and Ivan Yurukov and Vasilis Terzopoulos, Ministry of Macedonia and Thrace representative. The following awards are at stake in the festival: Best Greek Short Film, Best International Short Film, Best Greek Experimental Film, Best International Experimental Film, Best Greek Animation, Best International Animation, the Naoussa Award and People's Choice Award.
